Use case
Tax return approval
Send the SA100 computation for client review and approval before you submit to HMRC. Build a clear audit trail that shows your client saw and approved the figures, not just that an email was sent.
Why approval matters
Before submitting a self-assessment return, most practices want written confirmation that the client has reviewed the figures. This protects both sides: the client knows what is being filed, and the practice has evidence that approval was given.
Email approval works, but it is hard to prove the client actually opened and reviewed the computation. A signed approval with an evidence record is stronger.
Clear sign-off
Client explicitly approves the computation before submission
Evidence record
Timestamped proof that the client reviewed and approved
Before the deadline
Automatic reminders help avoid last-minute chasing

Create the approval pack
Upload the tax computation PDF and an approval cover sheet. The cover sheet can be a template you reuse for every client.
- 02
Add approval fields
Place a signature field on the approval form and a 'reviewed' checkbox on the computation. The client must interact with both.
- 03
Send to the client
The client receives a secure link by email. They open the computation, review the figures, and sign the approval form.
- 04
Submit with confidence
Download the signed approval and evidence record. You have clear proof the client reviewed and approved before you submitted to HMRC.
Important: A completed PractiSign signature confirms that the client reviewed and approved the computation. It does not constitute submission to HMRC. The practice remains responsible for filing the return through the appropriate channel.
